Squeeze, release, then push or pull.

You'll get the hang of it.

Hit it as hard as you want,
pretend your speed shifting, it won't over shift.

To override the ratchet mechanism, squeeze, hold,
then push or pull. Now it acts like your
factory detent shifter.

The gates are designed so you can go from REVERSE
to DRIVE easily. the only aftermarket race shifter that can do that.
